Luke Buck was born in Indiana and raised under the influence of his artist father, Harold Buck. He began his career in 1959 as a commercial artist along with fine arts which evolved into the fine arts by the early 1970s. Buck enjoys working in many mediums including oil, acrylic, graphite and his personal favorite watercolor. His favorite subject to paint is the rural American landscape with wildlife painting as his second choice. Buck is primarily a studio artist but also enjoys plein-air painting. In his words, “Art is my life, my blood and my soul. It always has been and always will be. I cannot even glance at anything without studying, analyzing, measuring, contemplating or simply enjoying and appreciating it.” His work is in private collections in every state in the United States and worldwide.
