Tom Sadler works in oils because of their inherent versatility and permanence. He utilizes consistencies of paint that alternate from very transparent to very opaque. Sadler is driven to paint motifs that include water or that inherently possess some other timeless quality. The light and color from the changing seasons, times of day, or weather conditions are all fair game when what is often sought is the display of harmony between warm and cool colors. In his words, “I’m driven to paint whatever I find interesting to the eye. The way the light plays on a subject is often more important to me than the subject itself.” Sadler’s works can be viewed at Grand Bohemian Gallery, Villa Fiorenza, Comma Gallery, Saint Augustine Gallery, Habersham Gallery and Beachside Gallery.
