James Richards was born in rural Georgia and raised with a love for the outdoors.  Out of this connection with nature, he began painting landscapes at a young age and received early success for his work.  Richards is an award winning painter and sought after instructor who spends his time traveling in search for inspiration.    His work can be found in numerous private and corporate collections including Disney, King and Spaulding, The Ritz Carlton, The Georgia State Capital, John Sherholz, The Atlanta Braves, Prince of Doha Qatar, The University of Georgia, Reynolds Plantation, Budweiser, and Lieberman’s.  In his words, “My goal in painting is to give a glimpse of the beauty in the ordinary everyday objects and places passed by daily without recognition.”
